A la Une de ce journal, le général Evariste Ndayeshimiye a été désigné candidat à la présidentielle par le parti au pouvoir au Burundi. C’est un proche du président sortant Pierre Nkurunziza. Il est lui aussi issu des rangs de la rébellion hutu qui avait accédé au pouvoir en 2006, après la guerre.
